How to Choose the Perfect Accessories for Your Home

Are You Swimming In Accessories?  Does your room just make you feel stressed out? Is there just too much stuff everywhere?

Is this you?

Let’s talk about how to choose the perfect accessories.  =0)

I see this a lot when I first meet a new client and have a look around their home.  I can tell they are confused about their situation and aren’t sure where to start.  Here are 3 sure-fire ways to help you clear away the clutter (both in the room and in your mind) so you can enjoy your home and all the things that make it unique and special to you.

1. Clear Out the Room

Take Everything out or down.  All of your accessories, art, everything.  Move it out of site. Down the hall, into an adjacent room.  Just not in here.  You’re starting with a clean palette.

Now… take a moment and…Breathe!

2. Edit Your Stuff

Take your time and decide what you love and can’t live without.  Give the rest away to family or charity.

Another man’s treasure…as they say.

3. Make a Plan

Plan where to place the things you love and are going to keep.  Make sure to do this before you put everything back in the room and on the walls and shelves.  Keep in mind your room’s focal point so everything feels and looks cohesive in the way it flows throughout your room.
