Our Home Reno Series: Fabrics, Wallcoverings & Paint Selections

I’m so excited to show you some of the fabrics and wallcoverings I’m considering for our home renovation. Here’s a sneak peek. I’ve grouped them according to room schemes. You can probably tell my style is very relaxed and has a coastal vibe. In my practice, it’s been called “Casual Elegance”.

The painter is coming next week so my goal right now is to make sure I have the right colors chosen. For now, we’re spraying all the ceilings, the new baseboards, and some of the walls. We’ll need to live with these rooms for quite a while until we can do some major remodeling in the kitchen and baths so I'm having those rooms painted too.

Because there are so many patches from the drywall repair, it’s going to be nice to have it “cleaned up” a bit. You can probably see by my selections that a soft white will be my go-to choice for the ceilings and trim. A couple of my favorite whites are Benjamin Moore OC-45 Swiss Coffee and Dunn Edwards DEW340 Whisper. The first one is like cream for your coffee. The second is slightly brighter. But they're both still soft.

As far as paint finishes, I prefer a matte (almost flat) for my walls/ceilings and a semi-gloss for all the trim.

🤗 While I’m still figuring out my final options I’d like to talk to you about how I got here (here being the ability to design my own home) and how you can too!

I now have over 20 years of experience in my interior design practice. I’ve worked with million-dollar clients as well as people working on a tight budget. Everyone has the same goal. To create a home of their dreams. Design and decorating can be a lot of work and commitment but I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to tear apart your home or start from scratch in order to create spaces you love.

Let’s have a quick call and I’ll show you how my 3 step system can work for you.

I hope to welcome you as my newest student soon!
