Our New Kitchen Cabinets

I feel like celebrating! Our kitchen is almost complete! Here are some insights about the cabinets for our new kitchen and family room.

If you recall, I chose a door/drawer panel called “recessed panel”. It has a small detail inside the frame to help it feel a tiny bit more traditional. The door and drawer fronts are in a style called “frameless” which means they cover the boxes entirely and give a cleaner look overall. Here are a few pics to give you the idea…

I went with 2 deep drawers and one shallow drawer on the lowers. The uppers received one or two rows of cabinets with doors and adjustable shelves inside. Can I tell you how great it is to no longer have to squat or kneel down to reach inside those lower cabinets? My joints are soooo much happier now. =0)

The ceiling planks added a nice warmth to our new great room and it also helped to make this area feel even more separate from the living/dining area. Do you remember me talking about the bowling alley in a previous blog?

Here’s what I mean… The rooms beyond the doorway now feel different from the front rooms.

I have to admit. I made a mistake with the crown moulding around the cabinet uppers so we’ll replace those and I’ll circle back with some “after photos” soon.

In the meantime, I’m shopping for some new, larger scale accessories to share with you as well.

Here are a few more progress pics for now. Thanks for tagging along!
