A Quick Design Tip: How to Hang Draperies

A friend called the other day about her draperies, and I was reminded about a tip I should share with you. Did you know that fabric has a memory? It’s true.

And you know those dry-cleaning bags you usually throw away? They can be very useful for training your drapery panels.

Cut the bags into strips and tie the plastic strips around the panels in a few places to form a column. This will help the folds of the drapery to keep their shape over time. This is how the professionals hang draperies.

After about a week, you’ll find that they “remember” that shape after you start opening and closing them.

Just thought you might like to know….❤️
