Our Kitchen Remodel: A Final Look

Ask any designer, and they will tell you that the hardest type of project to do is their own home. This was definitely the case with my own kitchen and family room.

I think it has everything to do with the fact that as professionals, we see so much in the field and the options are endless.

It’s like that feeling you get when you drive your new car off the lot for the first time. You know you’ll have to live with it for a long time, but you can’t help but wonder…what will next year’s model be like?

If you’ve been with me a while, you’ve probably heard me say that it’s super important to design the way that feels right in your heart. And NOT to copy the latest trend you’ve seen on TV or social media.

So back to my remodeling story…

The window treatments went up yesterday and this means we can call it complete. =0)

I am, however, waiting on the end caps for the drapery rod and they are in the mail. ugh.

The crown molding above the cabinets has been swapped out for a straight valance which I think works much better now. It took a while to match the paint and as you may know, white is one of the hardest colors to match.

I also had to wait for the correct refrigerator panels to arrive and you’ll see them in the gallery below.

I’ll continue to look for warm wood accessories, and it will be fun to switch them out from time to time.

My kitchen and family room are finally finished! Here are some AFTER photos I hope you enjoy.

And thanks for tagging along friend!
