The Art of Conversation
So much of the art of conversation has been lost over the years. Even within my own lifetime, I have noticed this change. I attribute a big part of it to technology. Now more than ever, it is important to be aware of the impact technology has had on social skill building so that we too, do not fall prey.
I see this, especially in our young people. Often, they can be observed with heads down, intent on a text conversation while standing right next to another person. These two people may be friends but appear to be ignoring one another and instead, are far more interested in the conversation going on inside of their hand-held devices.
In some ways, kids today are lucky to have so much technology at their disposal. It has improved our channels for learning and our ability to communicate in business but at the same time, our young people’s interpersonal skills are diminishing.

Below, you’ll find 6 ice-breaking conversation-starting questions. The questions are fun and varied and before too long, everyone around the table will be roaring with laughter.
So—let the fun begin. Don’t be shy. Speak up!
